Classes will be back in session tomorrow morning in Portland and East Hampton, several days after a historic blizzard blew through the state.
In both towns crews are still clearing the roads of snow banks that are either narrowing the lanes of traffic on side roads or obscuring sight lines.
In East Hampton, that work has progressed enough to permit the school bus to run in the morning, said Town Manager Michael Maniscalclo.
"We've cleared up most of the school bus routes so we should be back in business," he said.
Other communities were hit even harder. Across the Arrigoni Bridge in Middletown officials have sought out the state's help in clearing roads of snow and school leaders today announced the schools there will be closed until Monday, Feb. 19.
