The Coginchaug girls defeated Capital Prep 58-48 on Saturday at Mohegan Sun Arena to win the Class S girls basketball championship.
Lauren Esposito scored 18 points and Sam Mancinelli had nine points and 10 rebounds to lead Coginchaug to its first state title in girl's basketball.
