East Hampton Baseball Ranked No. 2 in Class S

State tournament pairings announced for baseball and softball.

The East Hampton baseball team earned a No. 2 ranking in Class with its 16-4 record resulting in a first-round-bye when the tournament begins next week.

The Bellringers first game will be Wednesday at home against the winner of the Career Magnet-Coventry game played on Tuesday.

The softball team (15-5) got a No. 9 seed and will open the Class S tournament on Tuesday at home against Oxford (9-11).

Before the state tournaments begin, however, there is some other unfinished business. The Shoreline tournaments for softball and baseball are underway. In a quarterfinal game, East Hampton plays Haddam-Killingworth in softball on Friday at 4 p.m. at home. In baseball, East Hampton will host Old Saybrook in a semifinal game at 11 a.m. on Saturday. The Rams defeated defending Shoreline champion Haddam-Killingworth 6-1 on Thursday.
