East Hampton High School won its season opener at Lyman Memorial 4-3 on Wednesday.
Al Iannone spun a two-hitter through 6 and 2/3 innings, turning it over to Marvin Gorgas, who piched out of a sixth-inning jam, then closed the door in the seventh for the win.
Down 1-0 in the fifth, the Bellringers picked up a huge two-strike, two-RBI single by Joe Tuxbury and an RBI single by Austin Wosleger to take a 3-1 lead. A long home run by Gorgas in the sixth widened the lead to 4-1.

Lyman (0-1) then answered back with two in the sixth with an error, walk and a base hit to make it 4-3. However, Gorgas entered the game for a tiring Iannone with two-outs in the sixth and a runner on and promptly got a pop up on his first pitch to end the inning and get out of the jam.
Other than a walk, the seventh was smooth as Gorgas picked up the save.
