East Hampton's Scarlett Recovering from Injury

Football player sustained ankle injury during game on Saturday.

East Hampton junior Dan Scarlett was scheduled to see a specialist on Monday to determine whether there is going to be any surgery needed on his ankle, acccording to Athletic Director Shaun Russell.

Scarlett, who plays for the East Hampton-Vinal Tech football team, was injured with 8:20 remaining in the game Saturday against Coginchaug in Durham. He was removed from the field on a stretcher and taken by paramedics to Middlesex Hospital where he was treated, stabilized and sent home.

Russell had not received official word on the extent of Scarlett's injury or an update on how the visit with the specialist went as of Monday afternoon.
