East Hampton Top Seed in Shoreline Baseball Tournament

Bellringers, Haddam-Killingworth earn first-round bye.

 

East Hampton (16-4) earned the top seed in the Shoreline Conference baseball tournament. The Bellringers, the defending Shoreline champions, won 10 of their last 11 games to wrestle the top spot from North Branford.

The Thunderbirds, losers of three of their last four games, fell to the No. 4 seed following a 2-1 loss in eight innings to Haddam-Killingworth on Tuesday.

The top two seeds receive a first-round bye. The seedings:

1. East Hampton

2. Haddam Killingworth (tie breaker with Cromwell)

3. Cromwell (tie breaker with North Branford)

4. North Branford (by virtue of total wins over Westbrook)

5. Westbrook

6. Old Lyme

Westbrook at North Branford, 3:45 p.m.

Friday's games

Lowest remaining seed at East Hampton, TBA

Second-lowest remaining seed at H-K, TBA

Saturday's championship game

at Indian River Complex, Clinton, 11 a.m.
