Dust off your garden dreams and make plans to attend the Connecticut Horticultural Society's "Spring into the Garden" symposium on Feb. 4, 2012. Register by Dec. 15 through CHS in Rocky Hill and pay a lower admission fee.
The day-long series of lectures features renowned plantsman Tony Avent, of Raleigh, N.C., as the keynote speaker. He will give two talks, one on new and exciting perennials, the other on planting in "drifts of one," which is sure to appeal to all gardeners who have ever bought a single pot of a plant they can't live without.
The other speakers are perennial plant diva Kerry Ann Mendez of Saratoga Springs, N.Y., and Nan Sinton, a garden-design and -travel consultant in South Dartmouth, Mass.
