Flows are currently a bit higher in the Connecticur River than is typical for late August. With the possibility of heavy precipitation in the forecast for New England (depending on the actual track of Hurricane Irene), anglers may find the river very high and unfishable early next week.
Remember, all Connecticut State Parks will close at sunset on Saturday due to the approach of Hurricane Irene and all state park campgrounds will close at noon on Saturday unless weather conditions dictate an earlier closing. State Parks and campgrounds will remain closed until further notice.
