UConn's Stewart injured: UConn sophomore linebacker Graham Stewart of Durham will miss the 2012 season because of a torn pectoral muscle. The former Xavier star transferred from Florida in May to be closer to home. Stewart, injured working out, had surgery July 27. The 6-foot-1, 227-pound linebacker will still have three seasons of eligibility with UConn. Stewart played in 12 games as a true freshman last year for the Gators with one tackle. He scored a touchdown in the Gator Bowl against Ohio State after 14 yards for the score. Whether Stewart would have been eligible to play this season after transferring was up in the air. UConn was planning on applying for a waiver, but that process had not been completed, according to uconnhuskies.com.
