The Portland High School girls' basketball team has earned a trip to the Class S championship game this weekend where they will take on Cromwell at the Mohegan Sun Arena.

CONGRATS PHS GIRLS BASKETBALL TEAM & PERSONAL FAVORITE : KELLY! I ENJOYED THE GAME AGAINST COGINCHAUGH(SP? GRADUATED FROM PHS IN 75, SPELLING NOT AS GOOD WITH AGE). HADN'T BEEN TO A GAME SINCE 75 & TO WATCH MY SISTER"S BEST FRIEND'S NIECE PLAY WAS THE ICING ON THE CAKE! I WON'T BE ABLE TO WATCH THE GAME BUT MY SISTER WILL LET ME KNOW HOW HARD YOU ALL PLAYED IN THE STATE FINALS!!!!! VERY PROUD OF YOU ALL!!!! CONGRATS ALSO TO DIANE & COACH "C", NOT GOING TO EVEN TRY TO SPELL YOUR NAME! LOTS OF HARD WORK HAS BEEN PUT IN BY ALL OF YOU! GO PORTLAND GIRLS!

Congratulations PHS Girls basketball team. Your town is so excited and proud of you and your accomplishments. We will be with you this weekend cheering you on. All town residents should plan on going to the mohegan sun this weekend and cheer on our girls basketball team. It is going to be a great game.

I'm not real sure what the take away is. It may be me, but I haven't seen a lot of in-depthRead More reporting on either side of the issue. It appears that we will vote and the result will determine what our future holds. I am willing to read whatever is available to become an informed voter. Please advise where the truth in reporting is and where the public information can be accessed.
