Lake Pocotopaug Boat Parade Rescheduled for Sunday

Threat of bad weather forces postponement of annual East Hampton event.

 

Because of the potential for bad weather on Saturday, the Friends of Lake Pocotopaug have decided that for the safety of the boats, the eighth annual Captain Grizzy Boat Parade in East Hampton has been postponed until Sunday at 2 p.m.

The Friends of Lake Pocotopaug will still be at Angelicos Lakehouse, 81 N. Main St., on Saturday afternoon selling raffle tickets and the drawing will take place at 6 p.m. as planned.

The raffle has a $10,000 first prize. Second prize is $1,500 and third prize is a $1,000 gift certificate to Shop and Shop. Tickets are $20.

The parade on Sunday begins across from Angelico’s Lake House. The boats, however, will assemble earlier and launch at Sears Park. First prize is $500, second prize is $250. There also will be four "Good Showing" prizes ($100 Carmen Anthony's Gift Certificates) and a prize will be awarded in the chldren's category.

Admission to the parade is free.
