Meet the Chatham Party Candidates

This Saturday, Oct. 5th from 1-4, Sear's Park ~ Music ~ Cupcakes ~ Pastries ~ Lemonade

Voters in East Hampton have lots of questions following the recent controversy created by the Secretary of State’s opinion to remove minor parties from election ballots across Connecticut. In response, the Chatham Party will host a “Meet the Candidates” event and fundraiser at Sear’s Park this Saturday Oct. 5th from 1 to 4pm.

At this event, Chatham Party candidates will answer questions and talk with voters.

“We want to assure voters that there will be a Row C on the ballot in November,” said Kyle Dostaler, Chatham Party Chairman and member of Town Council. “This issue has brought attention to the growing number of independent political parties and the unfairness of the current system. The Chatham Party has earned its place on the ballot and we are all of our 16 candidates are committed to running and representing the people of East Hampton.”

This latest challenge is not the first time the Chatham Party has been tested. “Every time we rise to the occasion, stand united and find a solution,” said Sue Weintraub, Town Council Chairwoman. “When life gives you lemons, make lemonade.”

In a show of the Chatham Party’s resolve and positive vision for the community, they are turning Sear’s Park into a lemonade stand for a day. Candidates will be serving lemonade and selling lemon-themed cupcakes and pastries. Residents are invited to join them at the park to meet the candidates, talk about the issues and support the campaign. Local musician Brian Avery will play the piano for an up-beat temp and there will be fun for kids.
