The Farmers Cow Corn Roast and Farm Tour
The Farmer's Cow invites the public to join the Cushman and Smith families for a down-home corn roast bash in the fields of the farm this Saturday, August 3rd from 1-3pm.
Cushman Farms is a unique family partnership of four families. All generations from all four families will be on hand to ensure a good time.
Fresh picked local sweet corn will be slow roasted in the husk over a charcoal fire. There will be plenty of butter on hand or you can ‘Shake & Make’ your own from The Farmer’s Cow Heavy Cream. Enjoy a horse drawn wagon ride around the fields, visit the cows and the maternity barn, tour the milking facility that features New England’s first direct milk cooling system and see the rotary ‘merry-go-round’ that milks 30 cows at a time. If you are looking for some exercise, take a hike along the 1 mile rustic nature trail that connects the Cushman farmstead to the milking center. After the tour, cool off with some delicious ice cream or The Farmer’s Daughter’s Summer Beverages and sample The Farmer’s Cow all-new ice cream cookie sandwiches made with delicious home baked cookies from Sweet & Simple.
