Carpino Honors Portland Man

State Rep. Christie Carpino on Monday night helped honor the efforts of Portland's Mike Kirchberger, who has been a driving force in the local Community Emergency Response Team (CERT). Carpino was among Kirchberger’s family members, firefighters and town officials at the Co. 2 Firehouse on Main Street. Carpino, who gave Kirchberger a special citation from the General Assembly, lauded the efforts of all of the volunteers in the room, calling them “the backbone of the community.” Carpino, R-Cromwell, represents Cromwell, Middletown and Portland.
