Your Take: What Constitutes A Fair Minimum Wage?

The Connecticut Council of Clergy and Gov. Dannel P. Malloy think the state's minimum-wage-earners need a raise.

Connecticut law sets the lowest hourly wage at $8.25 per hour. The federal minimum is $7.25 (check out this cool map to see what each state pays and how it compares to the federal minimum).

On Wednesday, members of the clergy group rallied in Hartford in support of more money for hourly earners. Last week, Malloy announced he supports raising the current rate of $8.25 an hour to $9 over the next two years.

And recently, Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) "cited a study that suggested the federal minimum wage would have stood at nearly $22 an hour today if it had kept up with increased rates in worker productivity."

What's your take? Are you a minimum-wage earner? What is a fair hourly rate that would allow people to live comfortably, and not paycheck-to-paycheck? Share your thoughts in the comments below.
