Bio: A self-proclaimed gypsy, Wendy Vincent left behind the world of corporate communications to pursue a career as a freelance writer. That move, combined with her BA in Communications and her mad organizational skills led her to her current position as editor of East Haddam-Haddam Patch. Not to mention, she has called East Haddam home for the last 10 years after growing up in a nomadic Coast Guard family. Wendy loves being involved, knowing what is going on around the Haddams and sharing that information with others.
Beliefs
At Patch, we promise always to report the facts as objectively as possible and otherwise adhere to the principles of good journalism. However, we also acknowledge that true impartiality is impossible because human beings have beliefs. So in the spirit of simple honesty, our policy is to encourage our editors to reveal their beliefs to the extent they feel comfortable. This disclosure is not a license for you to inject your beliefs into stories or to dictate coverage according to them. In fact, the intent is the opposite: we hope that the knowledge that your beliefs are on the record will cause you to be ever mindful to write, report and edit in a fair, balanced way. And if you ever see evidence that we failed in this mission, please let us know.
My beliefs: I am a registered voter, but refuse to choose a party. I was raised Catholic, but consider myself spiritual not religious (I have too many questions to be a "good" Catholic). I believe things happen for a reason, that we should always be kind to others and that there is always more than one side to a story.
My passions: I have been involved with the East Haddam Preschool as a board member, the EH Early Childhood Council, a board member of the EH Historical Society and Museum, helped with the EH Elementary School Book Fair Committee and am a current member of the East Haddam Prevention Council.
I enjoy reading, traveling, writing, gardening, yoga, frequenting farmers' markets, organic foods and products, convertibles and consider myself a road warrior.

Hi Wendy :) Thanks for posting the book signing event. I noticed that someone else had posted it, comprehensively, prior to your posting. Therefore, I removed yours--so it isn't double posted. Thanks for keeping the eye out for events--appreciate it! Mel
