Rifle Salutes at East Hampton Cemeteries to Honor Veterans
The Color Guard and Firing Squad of Fowler-Dix-Park Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5095 of East Hampton will be firing rifle salutes at local cemeteries to honor all deceased veterans on Sunday, May 26 and Monday, 27, 2013. The firing squad will deliver the traditional three volleys of rifle fire in salute, honoring the memory of veterans of all wars, who are buried at each cemetery visited. East Hampton's cemeteries are home to the graves of veterans from America's wars since 1776. Approximate times on May 26 include: 9:10 to 9:20 a.m. at White Birch Cemetery. 9:30 to 9:40 a.m. at Tartia Cemetery. 9:45 to 9:55 a.m. at Waterhole Cemetery; 10 to 10:10 a.m. at Skinnerville Cemetery; 10:15 to 10:25 a.m. at Old Young Street Cemetery; 10:30 to 10:40 a.m. at Selden Yard Cemetery; and 10:45 to 10:55 a.m. at Hog Hill Cemetery. Approximate times on May 27 include: The VFW Post Home at 12 noon; 12:10 to 12:15 p.m. at St. Patrick's Church Cemetery; 12:25 to 12:35 p.m. at Union Hill Cemetery; and 12:40 p.m. at Middle Haddam Veterans Memorial.
