Possible Human Remains Found in East Hampton

Remains were recovered from the Connecticut River Tuesday.

“Possible human remains” were found on the banks of the Connecticut River in East Hampton Tuesday, according to a statement from the East Hampton Police Department.

On Tuesday morning officers received a report that remains had been found near St. Clements Castle, according to police.

Officers from the East Hampton and Portland police departments were aided in the investigation by detectives from the State Police Major Crime Squad, as well as state officers and dive teams. The investigation is ongoing, police said.
