East Hampton Pre-School Vision Screening at KOCO

CHILDREN’S EYE VISION SCREENING OFFERED
On June 7th, between 9:00 a.m. and 12:00, the East Hampton Village Lions will be conducting a PediaVision eye-screening at the Kids of Chatham Organization (KOCO) child care center located at 151 East High Street.
KOCO has been kind enough to open their doors to any child in East Hampton between the ages of 2 and 5 whose parents or legal guardian would like their child’s eyes screened.
The vision screener is capable of screening for Astigmatism (blurred vision), Myopia (near-sightedness) , Hyperopia (far-sightedness), Anisometropia, Strabismus (crossed-eyes), Amblyopia (lazy eye) and Anisocoria (unequal pupil sizes). The individual screening takes just a few seconds and Is performed from a distance of about three feet.  There is no physical contact with the child and no eye drops are administered. Our equipment provides a print-out of the results for each child which is forwarded to the parent.
Each child who is tested must have a Vision Screening Consent Form signed by a parent or legal guardian.
It is important to  understand that this is only a screening and does not constitute an examination or diagnosis of vision problems.
The service is offered free of charge by the East Hampton Village Lions under the Lions Eye Health Program administered by the CT Lions Eye Research Foundation. For more information on bringing your child to this screening, please contact: Linda Brogan at: 860-267-2012.
