“Explore East Hampton Tree Walk”

The East Hampton Parks and Recreation Dept. will sponsor a
“Tree Walk” in the village of East Hampton on Sunday, June 2, at 10 am. (Please
note time change) The walk is organized by the Chatham Historical Society as
part of the “Explore East Hampton” monthly series program.

Ed Richardson of Glastonbury, a volunteer with the
Connecticut Notable Tree Committee, will lead the walk. Richardson has located,
identified, and measured hundreds of notable trees throughout the state. Ed has
traveled throughout Connecticut and he has a knack for finding the largest and
oldest trees. He enjoys sharing his knowledge of trees and has led walks at
many public and private tree collections.

            Come and learn about the
majestic trees that have graced our town’s landscape for hundreds of years. The
walk is open to adults and children. Wear comfortable shoes and no
dogs please.

The walk will begin and end at The
Chatham Historical Society's Museum complex located
at 6 Bevin Boulevard. The museum will also be open for tours after the
walk and also at its usual time from 2-4 pm. Parking is available by the museum
or behind the Center School.

The walk will take approximately 1 and a half hours. Heavy
rain will cancel the walk.
