Do the right thing, vote to support EHHS renovation
It is both a right and a privilege to be able to vote, and have a voice in your town’s issues. If you have the ability to vote this coming Tuesday for the Town of East Hampton Referendum, I strongly urge you to do so. I also believe it is a right and a privilege to attend public school here in East Hampton. As a resident of this town, I also consider it my duty to help provide the best education, within my ability, to the children of this town. I have supported the school budgets for many years; whether I’ve had children in the school system or not. I believe East Hampton has the ability to renovate our High School as new. For less than a dollar a day, this can be done. Some naysayers will insist it is the teachers that make the difference, not some building. How is our town supposed to attract the best and brightest teachers with a lackluster campus, and outdated infrastructure?! Sometimes, even though you don’t want to do something, you know it is the right thing to do and you bite the bullet, and just do it. It is time for East Hampton to stop being penny wise and dollar foolish. The prudent thing to do, the right thing to do, is to go ahead with the High School Renovation Project. I urge you to go to the polls and vote yes on Tuesday.
